The systematic review and meta-analysis, authored by Clara Wosser, Kyriaki Apergi and Sharleen O’Reilly, examined 25 studies.
It found that 56% of the interventions were cost-effective and a further 20% were moderately cost-effective. Dietitian-led care can improve health outcomes while supporting more efficient use of healthcare resources, with telehealth and diabetes-focused interventions demonstrating particularly strong economic value.
The findings provide further evidence for investing in dietitians and integrating nutrition care into primary and multidisciplinary healthcare.
