Health ministers and high-level delegates from the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region, as well as representatives of partner organisations and civil society, met in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 28–30 October 2025 for the 75th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe (RC75).
2 Strategies were adopted by the member states:
- A healthy start for a healthy life: a strategy for child and adolescent health and well-being in the WHO European Region 2026–2030; and
- A strategy on harnessing innovation for public health in the WHO European Region 2025–2030.
EFAD was represented by Wineke Remijnse, Executive Director, together with Inês Teixeira Duarte, who participated as a youth delegate on behalf of EFAD’s student network EnDietS, reflecting WHO/Europe’s commitment to involving young professionals in public health decision-making.
Non-State Actor meeting
Ahead of the WHO 75th session, EFAD, together with other non-State actors (NSAs) from across the WHO European Region, gathered for a pre-RC engagement meeting to discuss how to take collaboration to the next level under the Second European Programme of Work (EPW2). As well as how the forthcoming WHO European Strategy on Ageing is Living: Promoting a Lifetime of Health and Well-being (2026–2030) can become a shared platform for partnership — tackling ageism, strengthening community-based care and creating environments that enable older people to live with dignity, connection and purpose.
EFAD endorsed joint statements by non-state actors on Ageing in Living, the Child and Adolescents Health Strategy and the EPW2.
