We trust you had a flying start of 2020, please see below a summary update of recent activities and an overview for the upcoming months.
AgeingFit and Inspire2Live
This month, ONCA particpated among others at the conference AgeingFit in Nice and the Inspire2Live conference in Amsterdam. AgeingFit is important as we see increasing interest among national and European associations for older people in nutrition and the added value of medical nutrition in chronic disease management. Inspire2Live is an expert-conference about new developments in cancer initiated and driven by (ex-) cancer patients across the world. Inspire2Live is connected to the global personalized medicine coalition.
World Cancer Day
On 4 February – World Cancer Day – the European Commission will start its outreach on Europe's Cancer Plan at an event in the European Parliament in Brussels, supported by the MEPs (Member of the European Parliament) Against Cancer Interest Group. While the EU has a long history in the fight against cancer, there are still many challenges ahead. ENHA/ONCA will participate at the event and follow up connections with a number European patient groups delegates and other stakeholders also as input for upcoming meetings with MEP’s.
Together with the European Patient Forum and with support of ENHA members and the Belgium ONCA team, we are connecting with various MEP’s to organise an ONCA event @ the European Parliament, preferably in the first half of this year. As soon as we have a date, which will be set by the EP, we will communicate that asap.
ONCA Communication Workshop
We will organise an ONCA communication workshop to brainstorm with ENHA members and ONCA country delegates about the ONCA coms and social media strategy for 2021-22. The plan is to organise it before or after the event at the EP. If that will take longer than expected we will separate the two and plan the workshop ahead of the event.
Preparations for the ONCA conference in Denmark 23 and 24 November 2020 are ongoing and moving forward well. We expect to start more detailed preparations for the programme as of Q2.
