This date is open nutritionDay in US and nutritionDay in Brazil (nutriDia) but also for those who missed the January nutritionDay 2010! Since then it is planned to keep the November as a month for ND in the following years.
To reach as many institutions, hospitals and nursing homes as possible we ask you for your help to make this project public.
The nutritionDay-project started in 2006 already and runs worldwide by now. From 2006 to 2010 we collected data from nearly 95.000 patients and residents of 36 countries. It can be carried out on every normal ward of a hospital, intensive care units and nursing homes.

The data collection itself consists of five short parts:
 Sheet 1: organisation and structure of the ward
 Sheet 2: questions about all patients on the ward on ND
 Sheet 3a: questions about each patient’s weight, mobility, health situation;
 Sheet 3b: questions about the actual nutritional intake of each patient on ND
 Patient and Outcome Sheet

These elevation instruments are available in 28 languages (Chinese in progress) to prevent linguistic barriers with patients and station staff. A month after nutritionDay (ICU 60days, nursing homes 180 days) the outcome of each patient is documented. After data transfer (elevation phase) to the online database participants receive a unit report, which provides a comparison with stations of the same speciality.

We would appreciate your feedback to get to know in which way it would be possible to inform your members. In addition we would welcome to announce the project in magazines or newsletters.
