The European Micronutrient Recommendations Aligned (EURRECA) Network of Excellence has been established to address discrepancies in European micronutrient recommendations and work towards a framework of advice to better inform policy makers as they formulate precise recommendations. The aim is to produce Europe-wide scientific consensus on the evidence on which micronutrient recommendations can be used, enabling such evidence to be converted rapidly, conveniently and appropriately into recommendations published in national policy documents. The focus will be on the most vulnerable groups in Europe such as the older generations, pregnant and lactating women, children, those with low incomes and migrant populations.
The project is funded by EU and is made up by 34 partners, drawn up not only from nutrition science but also from industry, consumer groups, national nutrition societies, and health professions. 
 
EFAD is a member of the Users Advisory Group which supports the Network by advising on dissemination and exploitation of the EURRECA outcomes and on training opportunities, thus expanding dissemination to eventual users of the Network results.
