Diogenes Go to the website Diet, Obesity and Genes (Diogenes) is a multi-disciplinary, multi-centre research project to advance understanding of how obesity can be prevented and treated from a dietary perspective. It integrates studies of dietary, genetic, physiological and psychological/ behavioural factors. It is a five years project supported by EU with 29 partners across Europe from research centres and industry. Based on the new knowledge generated the project will demonstrate prototypes of innovative products or advice regimens which will help susceptible individuals to avoid weight gain and weight re-gain. EFAD is a stakeholder in the project and has participated in a workshop on ´Obesity research and the food industries: new opportunities for collaboration´.
